I wanted to actually comment on your lovely picture!
I live in Michigan, and we are level enough and full of trees, so we don't get that lovely effect of the clouds casting shadow patterns across the landscape.
As a kid on vacation in New Mexico, I was captivated by this phenomenon. It still has the ability to make me stop and smile.
